Fidelis Sangye is a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a strong clinical focus in inpatient psychiatry and addiction medicine. He began his nursing career at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he spent seven years specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry, building a solid foundation in behavioral health and developmental mental health disorders.

 

After earning his Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Northern Kentucky University in 2016, Fidelis transitioned into pain management, gaining valuable experience in complex chronic conditions and medication management. Recognizing his passion for mental health and substance use treatment, he returned to Northern Kentucky University to complete his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification in 2019.

 

Since 2021, Fidelis has practiced in inpatient psychiatric and detoxification settings, where he manages acute mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and withdrawal syndromes. His clinical expertise includes psychiatric evaluation, medication optimization, and interdisciplinary treatment planning in high-acuity environments.

 

Fidelis is currently pursuing his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Arkansas State University. His scholarly work focuses on quality improvement and patient safety, with a project titled “Impacting Competency in Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) Guided Suicide Risk Screening on an Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.” His work emphasizes enhancing staff competency, standardizing suicide risk assessment practices, and improving clinical outcomes through evidence-based interventions.
